The MP-59, the next evolution of our award winning Ti Muscle Technology, delivers full cavity forgiveness in a player’s half cavity design. During the elaborate Grain Flow Forging process, the pure Titanium material is forged into the muscle of the ゴルフクラブ 5% larger Sweet Area compared to the MP-58, the iron that debuted Ti Muscle Technology while taking home "Editor’s Choice" in Golf Digest’s 2010 Hot List. The lightweight characteristics of the pure Titanium allow for the ideal amount of thickness behind the impact area to deliver consistent solid feel while simultaneously providing a dramatic increase in perimeter weighting for enhanced playability. To date, only Mizuno’s patented Grain Flow Forging process can deliver this technological advancement that produces these amazing gains in forgiveness, all within a compact, traditional head shape.

New Mizuno irons for 2011 - Mizuno MP-53 iron

As you would expect, they are all aimed at a slightly different type of golfer but they do have one thing in common - they are all gorgeous to look at.

Into the range come the new MP-58, MP-53, JPX A25 Pro and JPX E600. The introduction of the two JPX irons signals the end of the successful MX range, which has been a favourite of game-improving golfers for the past eight years. The JPX range is therefore replacing the MX-1000 and the MX-300.

We've got all the juicy information on the new irons, including topline and sole pictures. Just click on the links below to find out more.

When creating the new MP-53 iron, Mizuno's engineers were charged with the task of developing the most forgiving and playable MP iron in the company's history.

They wanted the forgiveness of the MX-300 iron to be blended with the shot-making potential of the MP-52. Mizuno engineers decided that a Diamond Muscle design and a V-shaped milled pocket cavity would allow them to deliver these characteristics.

The pocket cavity removes 14g of weight which is then redistributed round the cavity to give the largest sweet spot of any MP iron to date without adversely affecting versatility.

The MP-53 iron, Harmonic Impact Technology was used to create the perfect feel at impact and the 360 degree grind on the trailing edge makes the head size appealing even to better players. The short irons are also smaller than the longer irons for more workability.

The result is an iron with a slightly longer blade length than the MP-52 but a narrower sole than both the MP-52 and the MX-300 and more forgiving than either.

Chris Voshall, from Mizuno's R&D dept, said: "Our design ethos is about packing as much forgiveness as we can into smaller, more versatile packages. The MP-53 is an incredible iron - it's smaller than our previous game-improvement iron the MX-300, yet still more forgiving.

"The MP-53's forgiveness is in the right places - the mid and long irons. With the shorter irons, loft takes over the role of forgiveness and we put the emphasis back onto feel and versatility. There is a great balance to this set - for anyone from Tour level to a serious mid-handicap amateur."
